The International Joint Conference of the sixth
Topical Symposium on Millimeter Waves (TSMMW2004) and the fifth MINT
Millimeter-Wave International Symposium (MINT-MIS) will be held at
Yokosuka Research Park, Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan, on February
26-27, 2004. Two international symposiums will be jointly held for
the first time in Japan. The first objective of this conference
is to provide a forum to discuss the recent advancement of
millimeter-wave devices, circuit and system technologies by an
international group of engineers and scientists. The second is to
accelerate the use of millimeter-wave frequencies for various
wireless systems, e.g., indoor and outdoor wireless LANs, home link
systems, indoor and outdoor video distribution systems, local
multipoint distribution services (LMDS), millimeter-wave video
distribution services (MVDS), high-density fixed wireless access
(FWA) systems, wireless personal area network (WPAN) systems,
wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) systems and automotive
collision avoidance radar. This symposium will be held for two
days under the sponsorship of the YRP R&D Promotion Committee,
Communications Research Laboratory, Incorporated Administrative
Agency, Millimeter-Wave Innovation Technology Research Center and
Korea Science and Engineering Foundation, and under the technical
sponsorship of the Institute of Electronics, Information and
Communication Engineers (IEICE) of Japan, the Institute of
Electrical Engineers (IEE) of Japan, IEEE MTT-S, the Japan National
Committee of URSI, Commissions C&D, the Korea Electromagnetic
Engineering Society and Millimeter-Wave Laboratory of Finland
(Millilab). The technical program consists of invited and
contributed papers. One keynote will be addressed by Prof. Bumman
Kim, Pohang University of Science and Technology, at the plenary
session scheduled in the morning of the first day. Twenty-seven oral
and twenty-nine poster presentations will be given at the regular
sessions, and two tutorials will be presented by Mr. Reed Fisfer,
chair of millimeter-wave interest group within IEEE802.15, OKI
America, and Dr. Hajime Suzuki, chair of TU-R WP3K-3, CSIRO. All
those interested are welcomed to join us at the forum to explore
future prospects for millimeter waves. The official language for
the symposium will be English. It will be used in all materials and
during all presentations and discussions.
All speakers are requested to contact the presider at least
10 minutes before the start of their session.
